Current Youth Exhibits

PATCKids believes in breaking down barriers to arts education and providing access to photography in as many ways as possible. For this reason, we are pleased to showcase our most recent program and a portfolio of student work both here and on our Facebook page!

From June 10 to June 15, PATCKids partnered with the Minnesota Zoo Investigators program for a week-long workshop intensive with ten students from Minneapolis and St. Paul area high schools focused on career exploration and nature photography. Our fingers are crossed they win the photo contest sponsored by the Zoo at the end of the summer!
Program Partner: Minnesota Zoo, Summer 2013
Final Exhibit Date: Saturday, June 15th, 2013
Final Exhibit Location: Minnesota Zoo
This week-long intensive workshop took place on-site at the Minnesota Zoo, led by Star Tribune photojournalist Judy Griesedieck and Project & Community Outreach coordinator Sydnee Bickett. Minnesota Zoo Education Coordinator Jennifer Schultz worked with past students to bring a group of 10 high school students from Minneapolis and St. Paul to our program, in which they learned the basics of photography, composition and motion photography. Each day featured hands-on experiences, with nature walks on the Zoo’s various trails and behind-the-scenes tours with a career exploration and nature photography basis. Students exhibited a framed favorite photograph and a 5-image story with artist statement during a Family Day at the Zoo on June 15th.
